1995 Eurovan. Deal or no deal?
1995 VW Eurovan (campervan) value?
I'm looking at a 1995 Eurovan (camper van). Has a pop-top,propane stove, fridge and sink. 115,000 miles. Took it to a mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. He said everything checks out, for the most part. Timing belt has been changed and it has a 100,000 mile engine/transmission warranty (national warranty).
Although it seemed to check out, I am concerned about the price. The dealer told me the value can not be found in KBB due to limited production. This is true, I could not find it. I will be financing thru a 3rd party in which he claims he has worked with before and they will find the value. When I talked to the mechanic regarding the price, he thought it was very high for a 15 yr old vehicle, however he did say he wouldn't know where to start in determing the price other than comparing it to others on the market.
The asking price is $18,900 firm. Any thoughts???
That price is too high.
A "regular" Eurovan with those low miles is only worth between 4-5K, they think this is worth four times that? They aren't rare enough to be collectible yet.
About that warranty: you said it's a 100K mile warranty but the car has 115K. Unless there's something else you didn't mention, it appears to be long expired.
There's one on ebay right now - a 93 with 141K miles, but the current price is only sitting at $5100
There's one on ebay for 19K, but it's a 2003, not 95. And I don't think they'll get that either.
