Ford Spray
Ford Spray

I have 2003 ford taurus that sprays tranny fluid out of the dipstick after long trips.what causes this?
the trans was just installed could it be overfilled?or filter clogged.shows empty on the stick at operating temp&overfilled when cold
Yes check it "warm" and I think you are way overfilled.
But don't believe the over fill is worse then under filled , wives tail.
Whenever you add fluid , only add a half a baby jar at a time.
Untill you get your readings on the stick.
A shop can stick a tube down the fill tube and suck the fluid down to level.
You can make a "sucker" out of a large 60cc syringe from the pharmacy (tell them what your doing , and you don't want or need the needle), And some vacuue line/hose about 4' long. Wedge the vacuum line on the syringe, stick it down the trans fill hole, and suck the fluid out 60cc at a time.
Or you can crack the pan bolts and let it drain down. Retighten and re add the fluid to level.
Your biggest concern is that fluid catching fire from the landing on the engine. It can and dose happen.
Try duct taping the stick down to the pipe , until you quickly get this repaired
